In common English, for a rectangle the words length a width usually imply that the length is greater than the width.
So when they say the tile is 5 by 10, I would assume that the width is 5 and the length is 10
Sure enough, 10 is twice 5
Suppose that Mr johnson has rectangular tiles that are twice as long as they are wide For the purposes of this class we can assume that the tiles are 5" by 10"
Im confused by this bc it says the tiles are twice as long as they are wide but doesnt it say that the length is 5 with the way it is worded
