odds are defined slightly different from probability.
odds in favour of some event
= prob(of that event) : prob (not that event)
so odds in favour of rain on Sept 21
= .358 : .642
= 358 : 642
reduce to lowest term ratio
Suppose that in a given year, the probability that it will rain on September 21 is .358. What are the odds of it raining on September 21?
How would a solve this?
I would like to know the steps, not the answer.
Thanks!
