= (6yds/sec right-8yds/sec ahead )/.5

From experience, this is a 3-4-5 triangle, so the answer is 10yards/sec^2 in a direction of the angle whose tangent is 3/4 to the right.

You must have a coach for a teacher. Using American English units such as yards is not good use for preparing you for college, you really need to be learning the SI system of units.
