In chapters 1-3 of "Percy Jackson: The Lightning Thief," we meet Percy Jackson, a twelve-year-old boy who gets into trouble a lot, and he feels different from other kids. He finds out he's a half-blood, which means his dad is a Greek god, but he doesn't know which one. Percy goes on a school trip to a museum, and weird things happen when he gets chased by monsters. After that, Percy learns that he has to go to a special camp for kids like him called Camp Half-Blood, where he can be safe and learn more about who he really is.

I really like the quote, “The address is 3100 Bay West, Long Beach, California" (page 12). I chose this quote because it’s the first time Percy learns about a special place that can help him. It makes me think about how sometimes we need a safe place when we feel lost. Plus, it sounds like an exciting adventure where Percy will meet other kids like him!
