Sugar solution is composed of 40 grams of sugar and 200 grams of water. How many grams of sugar must be added to make a 60% sugar solution?

(Kindly write the equation..... tnx)

1 answer

(40 + x)/(240 + x) = 0.6
40 + x = 144 + 0.6 x
0.4 x = 104
x = 260 grams

Check: (260 + 40)/(200 + 40 + 260) = 300/500 = 0.6
