Subtracting a Fraction From 1

Joe Jumped robe for 3 minutes and 24 seconds. How many seconds is three minutes and 24 seconds.

I can figure this out but have no clue how to turn it into a fraction subtraction problem...Can't remember.
Thanks!

there are 60 second in 1 minutes. so, multiply 3 and 24 =72. so add 72+24=96 seconds. your answer is 96 seconds.
I think 96 seconds is wrong.

There are 60 seconds in 1 minute. Multiply 60x3=180+24=204.
Your answer is 204 seconds.
