The group of travelers, consisting of Bilbo and the dwarves, goes to the cave to find shelter from the storm and to rest after their long journey. I think this was a reasonable decision because staying outdoors would have exposed them to harsh weather and potential dangers, leading to exhaustion and difficulties in continuing their quest.

When Bilbo wakes up from his dream, he finds himself alone in the dark cave, confused and disoriented. He soon realizes that he is surrounded by the vastness of the cave, and the realization of being lost sets in, heightening his sense of vulnerability.
Students will read all of Ch. 4 the Hobbit, Pages 55-67. then students will answer the following questions below in their ELA Journals. (This week, students will answer their journal questions here on Google Classroom)
Students must write in complete sentences and answers need to be at least 1 paragraph in total.
1. Why do the group of travellers go to the cave? Do you think that this was a gooddecision? What do you think would happen if the group decided to stay outdoors?
2. Describe in your own words what happens when Bilbo wakes up from his dream.
