always multiply by one (top equal to bottom) so the units come out with the unwanted ones canceling
23 cm * (1 meter / 100 cm)
note cm cancels top and bottom, left with meters
besides we all know 23 cm = 0.23 meters :)

5 m * (1000 mm / 1 m) = 5000 mm
c) Give me a break. You know surely that a mile is longer
r than a yard !!!
7 yd * (1 mile / 1760 yards) = .003977 mi

a) 23cm*100cm/1m (I believe the cm and m should be flipped so that it can be cancelled)
b) 5m*1000mm/5m = 5000mm (no errors here?)
c) 7yd*1760mi/1yd = 12320mi (no errors here?)
d) 31ft*12in/1ft = 372in (no errors here?)
