Solve the problem. Make sure your answer is in simplest form and improper fractions are expressed as mixed numbers. 3 3/4 x 2 4/5 = ?

Change those fractions to improper fractions, and then multiply.
Don't know what the hangup is between mixed fractions and "improper" fractions
mixed fractions may be nice to look at, but they are basically useless for arithmetic calculations and must be changed to improper fractions
so, 3 3/4 x 2 4/5
= (15/4)(14/5)
= (3/2)(7/1)
= 21/2
To me that is a perfectly good number and answer.
If you want you can write it as 10.5 or 10 1/2 go ahead.

Good, it worked.
