So I have to write an essay test on this question: "To what extent should political decision-making be restricted to a specific group in society?"
I'm having a lot of trouble on what to say, I'm terrible at essay writing, so if someone could help that would be great!
thanks
Your question reminds me of Orwell's Animal Farm. Maybe it ought to be approached from that view.
Have you written a draft thesis statement?
Have you jotted down an outline?
These are good ways to start. If you don't have an idea of what you want to say, it is hard to get started.
Suggestion - you might take two different strata of society, perhaps a farmer and a high tech business owner. Choose one piece of legislation that is currently being considered.
Then based on relevance to life style decide how each would feel about that piece of legislation, showing why and how it would them and then in turn, the other person.
Then you can draw a conclusion as to whether decision-making should be limitedly or broadly based. ( and explain why).
