Notice the electric field consists of an array of arrows, or vectors. Each vector represents the force on a positive charge located at the base of the vector.
What do you notice?

The electric field vectors appear to be pointing away from the positive charges and towards the negative charges in the simulation pane. The vectors are stronger near the charges and weaker further away.
