5(x^(-2)) = 5/(x^2). Your answer is C.
Jakob can you help me with 8 other
Sure. I'm assuming '8 other' means eight other problems. Go ahead! I just want you to learn from my solutions along the way. Do we have a deal?
Shantel, I'm not trying to be impatient, but where are the 8 other problems?
Jakob yes we do

Which expression is equivalent to 12x^6y^-4z^2 / 3x^2y^-6z^3?
In 1997 the population of a small town was 700. If the annual rate of increase is about 8%, which value below expresses the population five years later?

What sequence below represents an exponential sequence? {2,6,10,14,18,. . .} {3,5,9,16,24,. . .} {4,8,24,96,. . .} {256,64,16,4,. . .}
Thanks for writing back!
1. 7(x^(-4))(y^2)=7*9=63.
2. (-x)^5 * (4x)^2 = -(x^5) * 16x^2 = -16x^7.
3. (2x^2)^3 simplifies to 8x^6. Please make sure you see why I can only simplify this.
4. (12x^6/3x^2)(y^(-4)/y^(-6))((z^2)/(z^3))=4(x^4)(y^2)(z^(-1))
5. If the rate of growth is always 8%, then I got roughly 1028.53 people. This is problematic, so I rounded it to 1029. Let me know if this doesn't work out.
6. 864,000 = 8.64 * (10^5)
7. The third sequence is exponential.

I hope this helped you!
#7. 4th sequence
@oobleck. That would be incorrect. The nth term in the third sequence can be found with the expression 4 * 3^(n-1). The nth term in the fourth sequence can be found with the expression 256/(4^(n-1)), and is therefore logarithmic.
