Simplify. x/ 4x+x^2

A. one-fourth
B. 1/4+x where x not equals -4,0
C. 1/4+x where x not equals -4
D. 1/4x where x not equals 0

my guess is a
x/(4x+x^2) = x/(x(4+x)) = 1/(x+4)
How could you possibly get A? What happened to all those x's?
B is correct, since at x = -4,0 the denominator is zero.
