(z-2z+4z)+6
3z+6
I don't understand that?
1 - 2 + 4 = 3
Really? Just as simple as that?
Yes.
One Step?
What did you do?
You can do it using the distributive property as J and Ms Sue did, or you can use it implicitly, working term by term

z-2z+4z+6
-z+4z+6
3z+6

Their answers basically factored out the z, as in

z-2z+4z+6
(1-2+4)z+6
(3)z+6
3z+6
