Show that the reciprocal of 3+2√2 is an irrational number

3 answers

As far as I know the only way to make the square root of 2 rational is to multiply or divide it by the square root of 2.
the reciprocal of 3+2√2 is 1/(3+2√2)

1/(3+2√2)
= 1/(3+2√2) * (3-2√2)/(3-2√2)
= (3-2√2)/(9 - 8)
= 3-2√2 , which is irrational
show me the ncert process hehe please
