shouldn't i set it up like this:

P(6)=(.5)(300) but then i do the math...
2P=150
75atm.

but the answer has to be (2.05 atm)

what am i doing wrong?

Your set up is not right. Where is R?
PV = nRT. You don't have R. R is 0.08205 L*atm/mol*K
2.05 atm is correct.
BTW, it works better to post your response as a response to mine instead of posting as a new question. The way you did it I had to go back, look up the original problem, then come back here to answer it.
could you expand on how you got 0.08205.
i missed that day.
I looked it up in the back of the book. R is a constant. PV = nRT is called the universal gas law and R is called the universal gas constant. R is 0.08205 L*atm/mol*K when P is in atmospheres. R is 8.314 when P is in kPa.
thanks again bob
