I'd use "section" because in supermarkets, food and goods are arranged in sections of shelves or freezers or refrigerated cases, not specifically counters. Counters are included in specialty stores, such as the deli or the bakery or the meat market.
1) When I go to the supermarket, I get a shopping cart first, and then I go to the meat and fish section(/to the deli section).
2) I get a ticket and wait for my turn. Finally, I go to the check-out counter. I usually pay cash, but sometimes I use a credit card.
3) Last year I went to Noli, a seaside resort in Italy for my holiday. It was lots of fun!
4) We participated in a lot of sports like swimming, running, and beach volleyball.
5) In addition, we slept in a hotel, and in the evenings we just hung out. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and we visited a lot of interesting museums. It was a great experience.
Shall I replace the word counter with section? For example, "sweets section, pasta section"? Could you please check these sentences?
