You need parentheses.

Is your problem,
y = (cubert(x)) + 2
y = (cubert(x + 2))
I hit post, just as I realized what you meant. Sorry.

Since the parentheses are around the (x),
you most likely mean,
y = (cubert(x)) + 2.
