The Texans won. Following the battle cry "Remember the Alamo!" and fueled by the desire for revenge, Texan forces led by Sam Houston defeated the Mexican army at the Battle of San Jacinto on April 21, 1836. This victory secured Texas' independence from Mexico.
Santa Anna & 6,000 Mexicans surrounded the Alamo and demanded surrender. When it didn’t happen, the Mexican army attacked & killed all defenders of the Alamo. This attack motivated Texans to fight harder, “Remember the Alamo!” became the battle cry.
