Sam is making a necklace she uses 2 red beads, then 1 yellow beads then 2 red beads, then 1 yellow bead.

How many red beads will she use if she uses 24 beads.

The answer is 16

But the problem is we cant figure out the equation???

Let x = the yellow beads.

2x + x = 24

3x = 24

x = 24/3

x = 8

what happens if x is red beads

Red beads = 2 * 8
