Both are correct.
This is what appears when I type "set tabs" in the Help search box in Word:
Do any of the following:
Set a tab stop using the ruler
Set a tab stop by using the dialog box
Remove a tab stop

Sally will clear and set tabs in the Tabs dialog box. Desi will set and clear tabs on the Horizontal Ruler.
