Route 1 - 52 miles at 60mph.
Route 2 - 43 miles at 50mph.

Which route is faster and by how much?

So, do the divisions and compare the times.

So route one will be 52/60 which equal 0.86 recurring and route 2 would be 0.86. So which is faster - is it router 2 and by how much?

well, .86666666 - .860000 = .0066666 = 2/300 hours

so route 2 is faster by 2/300 hours, or 24 seconds
