Skeletal muscles are connected to bones and help us move when we choose, like when we walk, lift things, or talk. They look striped and we can control them. They help us stay upright and keep us warm when we exercise.
Smooth muscles are found in the walls of organs like the stomach, intestines, and blood vessels. Unlike skeletal muscles, we do not control these muscles. They work on their own to help with things like digestion, moving blood, and opening airways. Smooth muscles do not have stripes and can work all the time without getting tired.
Cardiac muscles are special muscles that are only in the heart. They are striped like skeletal muscles but work without our control like smooth muscles. They are responsible for the heart beating and pumping blood. Cardiac muscles can create and send electrical signals, which helps the heart to beat regularly and efficiently.
