Through completing a variety of design activities, I learned that the design process is a dynamic and iterative one that involves problem-solving, creativity, and empathy. I learned that incorporating empathy and user feedback is crucial in creating designs that truly address the needs and desires of the target audience.
I chose to study the human impact of mental health stigma because I believe it is a pressing issue that affects many individuals on a personal level. I wanted to explore how design could be used to advocate for mental health awareness and to reduce stigma surrounding mental health conditions.
In creating my design methods, I feel that I did well in conducting research, gathering user insights, and brainstorming potential solutions. I also feel that I effectively incorporated feedback from peers and mentors to refine my designs.
Moving forward, I still feel that I need to learn more about prototyping and testing designs to gather user feedback and make iterations based on that feedback. I also think I could improve my skills in storytelling and communicating the design process and outcomes to others.
In the future, I may change my approach to the design process by involving users more consistently throughout the entire process, from ideation to prototype testing. I would also like to explore more diverse perspectives and consider the ethical implications of design decisions more thoroughly.
