Hello everyone. My name is Shaima. I’m 30 years old; I have lived in California, then moved to West Palm Beach, Florida, in early 2019, so it’s been about five years living here with my family and my dog; it’s pretty different, but I love it here. Since I moved to Florida, I had dreams and plans that I wanted to work on and pursue my career in the healthcare industry. I started applying to medical assisting programs, and it was a decision I have not regretted because, for me personally, it was a stepping stone. It taught me different skills, patient care, and clinical experience, and I have found myself admiring working in healthcare, which only grew when I started in the primary care office. I also knew I wanted to continue beyond that and work my way to becoming a future registered nurse and to work in critical care or the emergency department. My career goal and dedication are to provide excellent patient care and improve their quality of life.

In this class, I’m eager to understand microbiology and pathogens better and to learn different types of pathogens, bacterial metabolism, and infection control, which can be essential and valuable in my nursing career. In my free time, I enjoy going out for a walk with my dog, spending time with friends and family, and, on some weekends, going to restaurants and trying different foods.

I look forward to completing this course successfully, gaining knowledge, and meeting all of you!
