Hello class, my name is Paular, pronounced Paul-R (LOL). I was born and raised in Belle Glade, FL. My parents are from Haiti. I am married with 3 children, two boys and a baby girl. I’ve been in the medical field for a total of 13 years, an LPN for 6 years, and a Certified Nursing Assistant for 7 years. I decided to go back to school to further my education for advancement in my career and to better serve my patients. My specialty is in the mental health field. I hope to learn more about the human mind and behavior, including how the brain works, how people process information, and how behavior can become disordered. I chose this field because my older son was diagnosed as autistic. I want to go on and specialize in mental health to better help my son navigate his everyday life and to serve others as well.

In my spare time I like to cuddle up in my cozy armchair and read a good book or watch TV shows like Snapped and Law & Order (LOL). My sisters and I started a party planning business 6 months ago and it has kept us busy almost every weekend.

What I hope to gain from this class is a better understanding of organisms and microbes and the important roles they play in our health. Being in the medical field I believe it is crucial to know what is harmful to our body and overall health and what is beneficial.

Hi Paular,

It’s great to hear from you! It sounds like you have a really rewarding career and a beautiful family. I admire your dedication to furthering your education, especially with such a personal motivation. It’s inspiring that you want to specialize in mental health to better support your son and others who may be facing similar challenges.

I love that you’re also venturing into a party planning business with your sisters—sounds like a lot of fun! I can imagine how busy you must be juggling everything, but it must be fulfilling to create memorable experiences for others.

I’m also looking forward to this class and learning more about the role of organisms and microbes in our health. It’s such a fascinating topic and definitely relevant to our work in the medical field.

Wishing you all the best in your studies and your party planning adventures!

Take care, [Your Name]
