If you plan your day right you will know how to study as you get better you will be able to study for long periods of times. Training your brain.

Use your textbook correctly: SQ3R survey question read write review.

survey- look threw chapter and survey threw each page asking questions about different things that you see.

Do you have a study or a library in your home? should have a good study area without other distractions as the kitchen has the fridge full yummy food, the bedroom has the bed for sleepy time, and the living room as tv distractions. Driving to a school or library or having a secluded area away from all distractions, maybe get a lamp from thrift store that will help you with your study times. Turn on for when studying, and shut off during break, or time away from studying.

Environmental cues control a lot more than you think on a daily basis.

Start studying early, and study efficiently.

When hating what your studying and saying it to yourself it wont help at any point, you will be done before you even started and fail the test.

The moment when you start to slide your shoveling against the tide you should find a way and get yourself out of it.

1. This video on a scale of 1-10, I would say was a 9 it had a lot of good information to help with making studying better all around, and getting the most out of your studying time. He really had great ways to explain how to do what is best. Take it or leave it information but I bet if you trained your brain to study better you would do better.

2. Three things I plan to use from this video in core nursing classes is change my study habits completely find a quiet area that has no distractions with full focus on studying not at dining room table, in bed, or on kitchen counter. Create a good study area for yourself so you get best of your study time. Also, to study for 30minutes, then take a break in between after every interval because studying for six straight hours is going to do nothing but drag you down and not keep you interested in what your trying to learn and memorize. And learn the concepts, not just the facts but also the facts. As the concepts of everything are very important when learning a subject that your being taught to remember and use later on. To make the concept meaningful you need to be able to put it into your own words. Another thing I will highly consider is study groups if this is an option or I will find a way even if its just to study with someone else.

"Ontogeny recapitulates phylogeny" is a phrase that describes the idea that an organism's development (ontogeny) follows the same stages as the evolutionary history of its species (phylogeny). Embryo in utero start of the way it looks and gradually we start looking like a human where embryo becomes a little mammal.

3. This would of been a good assignment before this class would of helped a lot on grasping some of the concepts that were hard to grasp with the small things that I did sweat in this class. Now on to the core classes for nursing, this class was very informative and the labs an assignments really helped understand things a lot better. As for this video, about studying help and methods this will help a lot moving forward to adjust to learn and keep what I will be needing for nursing.

Brittany, I appreciate your insights on effective study strategies! Your plan to establish a distraction-free study environment and adopt the 30-minute study, followed by breaks, is definitely a smart approach. Creating a dedicated space will help enhance focus and retention. I also agree that understanding concepts deeply is crucial in nursing. Consider incorporating study groups for collaborative learning, as they can provide additional support and motivation. Your reflections on the video’s content will surely lead to improved study habits as you progress in your nursing coursework. Keep up the great work!
