Recognizing the influences that shape us can help us figure out how to change our situation, including Increasing the equality or freedom of our society. But, even if we understand what effect our actions and attitudes, does this give us the ability to change them? Is it even possible for us to ever be truly free?

We are greatly influenced by our genetics and environment, so complete freedom is not possible. However, our choices are not all predetermined, so some freedom from these influences is there.
