We must never forget our common goal: the advancement of freedom and democracy for all people. As I stand here before this symbol of divided Germany, I call on the Soviet Union to tear down the wall that separates East and West. Let us join together in a new era of cooperation and understanding, where the rights of all individuals are respected and protected.
The United States stands ready to work with our allies in Europe to promote peace and prosperity for all. We will not rest until the ideals of freedom and democracy are realized in every corner of the globe. Let us strive for a world where all people can live in dignity and freedom, where the barriers of division are torn down, and where the future is bright and full of promise.
Together, we can overcome any challenge and create a better world for ourselves and future generations. Let us stand united in our commitment to liberty and justice, and let us strive for a future where all people can live in peace and prosperity. Thank you, and may God bless the people of Germany, the United States, and all nations who seek freedom and democracy.
"Reagan speech from the Brandenburg Gate"
by Ronald Reagan
Adenauer, Erhard, Reuter, and other leaders understood the practical importance of liberty--that just as truth can flourish only when the journalist is given
freedom of speech, so prosperity can come about only when the farmer and businessman enjoy economic freedom.
