a) The jug can hold 3 times of water than cup, so if the full cup can hold 400 ml water, the jug can hold 3 times 400 ml = 1200 ml water.

b) If 2/5 of the cup is filled with water, then 3/5 of the cup is empty.

c) Since the jug can hold 1200 ml water and it is three times more than the cup, the cup can hold 1/3 of the jug. So, if half of the cup is transferred to the jug, then the jug will be (1/3 + 1/6) filled with water, which is 1/2 of the jug. Therefore, the fraction of the jug that is filled with water is 1/2.
