Rabbits are very popular domesticated animals, so popular that there are over 300 breeds of domesticated rabbits in the world. You attend a rabbit show and notice that all of the breeds vary in many characteristics, such as size, color, and fur length. You notice that there is weight information on the cages of all rabbit individuals at the show and decide to jot down data for two specific rabbit breeds (in pounds):

Breed A: 10, 8, 7, 10, 9, 9, 10, 9

Breed B: 10, 12, 14, 13, 10, 15, 11, 12

In three to five sentences, 1) calculate the average weights of the two rabbit breed groups, 2) describe some factors that could contribute to the different weights seen within breeds, and 3) describe how you would track and find the growth rate of the two rabbit breeds during an investigation. and make it like a 7 grader made it

To find the average weight of the two rabbit breeds, I added up the weights and then divided by how many rabbits there are in each breed. For Breed A, the weights are 10, 8, 7, 10, 9, 9, 10, 9. When I add those up, I get 72, and since there are 8 rabbits, the average weight is 72 divided by 8, which equals 9 pounds. For Breed B, the weights are 10, 12, 14, 13, 10, 15, 11, 12. Adding those gives me 12, and when I divide that by 8, the average weight is 12.5 pounds.

Some factors that could affect the different weights of rabbits in the same breed include their age, diet, and health. For example, younger rabbits might weigh less than older ones, and if some rabbits eat better food, they might become heavier. To track and find the growth rate of the two breeds, I could weigh the rabbits every week and record their weights in a chart. This way, I could see how much weight they gain each week and find out which breed grows faster.

Three sentences

The average weight for Breed A is 9 pounds, while Breed B has an average weight of 12.5 pounds. Differences in weight among rabbits can be due to factors like age, diet, and health. To track growth rates, I would weigh the rabbits weekly and record the data to see how much they gain over time.
