Question 4: How is this writing different from straight news writing? Answer is one-two complete sentences and use examples from the story to support your answer.

Read the following part of the story:
Oh, there's Blue IV. He's under a chair in the Madaj's living room, legs splayed behind him, ridiculous little tail wagging. Evan leans down and pulls him out, and Blue IV is grunting and wheezing.
If he's not careful, Evan will be doing the same. He's allergic to dogs, a minor fact he left off his Butler Blue Crew application years ago. He wanted a job handling the dog, remember. Who admits to being allergic to dogs? Not Evan, who keeps Benadryl and eyedrops and lotion handy in case he starts itching or sneezing or even, as he tends to do when Trip licks his face, breaks into hives.

1 answer

This writing is different from straight news writing because it includes personal observations and opinions from the author. Instead of just reporting the facts and events, the author shares their thoughts on Evan's allergy to dogs and his decision to hide it on his application.
