Question 1.
A Compound Containing 3 Atoms Of Carbon & 8 Atoms Of Hydrogen Is Combined In A Reaction With Oxygen Molecules. The 2 End Products Of This Equation Are Carbon Dioxide &water. What Element Should You Look At 1st In Balancing This Equation? Choose a.b.c or d?
A. Oxygen
b. Hydrogen
c. Carbon
d. Dioxide
Question 2 NEW QUESTION
When you have finished balancing the equation for the above question, which chemical element will have the largest number of molecules in your balanced equation? Choose a. B. C. Or d?
A. The C3H
b. The oxygen
c. The carbon dioxide
d. The water
I think the correct answer is to question 1 - C.
C3H8 + O2 -----> CO2 + H2O
And the answer to question 2 is id D.
Option D) The water has the largest number of molecules in the balanced equation.
2 answers
I don't like the second part of the question for a variety of reasons, either, but I won't go into them here unless you wish.
You have not answered part 2 correctly.
The balanced equation is
C3H8 + 5O2 ==> 3CO2 + 4H2O.
Therefore, the correct answer is oxygen has the largest number of molecules. [Note the question. It says to name the ELEMENT......] but I don't think it is a trick question. The point I am making is oxygen is the only ELEMENT standing alone in the entire equation so no matter what the coefficient is, oxygen is the correct answer.
