Producers/Consumers
Okay so I was wondering if some of you could help me with this question. This question is asking about producers (green plants/plants) and consumers (anything that eats those plants).
What is the ratio average of energy/m2(squared)/year for producers compared with consumers. (And the ratio is 7:1)
Now I have to give an explanation for this ratio...and I don't know what to say! Can anyone give me any suggestions?

The amount of energy/(m^2*year) measures how much usable food energy is produced by that plant or animal. The 7:1 ratio (if that is what it is) tells you that plants are a more efficient source of food energy than animals that eat plants produced in the same area. This is an argument for vegetarianism.
Thank YOU!
