A polyhedron is a three-dimensional geometric shape that is made up of flat faces, straight edges, and vertices. It can be defined as a closed solid with flat surfaces that encloses a certain amount of space. A simple polyhedron is one where two faces meet along each edge and all faces are polygons. A small polyhedron is one that can fit entirely within a given space without overlapping or extending beyond its boundaries.
