I have been to Singapore and enjoyed it very much. The best place to stay for the money is the YMCA. There is a McDonald's on the main floor. The Indian restaurant called The Banana Leaf is terrific. "Hawker" food sold in the open air at night is a must. Sentosa Island is great to visit. The Singapore Slings at Raffles bar are overpriced. You can be executed for marijuana possession.

It's on the equator, so the weather is about the same all year and the sun rises and sets at the same time every day. It rains a lot, mostly at night.
