Please, someone help me ,I don't know how and what to do to find the anwer. Mary was helping her family pick oranges in their grove. She took some home to share with three friends. She gave 3 more than half to Jennifer. Angela got half of the remainder and 3 more. She gave Josie half of the remainder plus 3. When she got home, she only had 10 oranges left. How many did she have when she left the grovw?

work backwards
before she gave Josie her oranges, Mary must have had 26 oranges.
check 1/2 of 26 plus 3 is 16, leaving her with 10

I got the 26 by adding 3 to 10, then double

now do this with 26
26+3 then doubled = 58

repeat with the 58
58+3 then doubled = 122

Mary had 122 oranges as she left the grove.

check
1/2 of 122 + 3 = 64 given to Jennifer, leaving her 58
1/2 of 58 + 3 = 32 to Angela leaving her with 26

1/2 of 26 + 3 = 16 to Josie, leaving her with 10
Thanks a lot. I get it now!
i don't now the answer.
