please help me write the equation and solve for it.
1).in a basketball game, eric made half as many free throws as dan. if the total number of free throws made by both men was 18, how many free theows did eric make?

Step 1: Eric = 1/2 of Dans; Eric + Dan = 18
Step 2: 12 + 6 = 18
Step 3: Eric has to be 6 because half of 12 is 6 and when you add them together you 18.
Step 4: Equation- Part A: D = 12; E = 1/2D; T= 18.
Equation- Part B: E + D = T
so... 1/2D + D = 18!!!!
