density = mass/volume
density = 335/(83.6-50)
You want the volume of the object rather than the object and the water.
Please help !!!
A student wanted to determine the density of an object made of an unknown substance. She found the mass of the object was 335g. Then she did water displacement to determine the objects volume. The initial volume of the water was 50.0 mL. With the object submerged,the volume was 83.6mL. What would she find was the density of the object?
I divided mass by volume and got 4.01 g/mL but I don't think this is correct.
