I disagree with your first answer. Your answer states that the child is making a value judgment. The question, however, asks for an example of categorization.
When a child calls all four-legged animals "doggies," he's attempting to categorize. I think that B is the better answer.
For the second question, I favor A, but that depends upon how your text defines these terms.
