First, what is your test for the presence of starch? Iodine?
Once you have a test, then start with a standard solution (you decide) of starch, and a standard solution of amylase.
Put your standard solution of starch in test vials. Add the indicator solution.
Now, figure a way to monitor temperature of the vial.
Put your vial in a controlled temp (refrigerator, oven) and raise temp (or lower) by 5C. Then add amalyse, and measure reaction time. Do this for several temps.
Plot reaction time vs temp
Please can someone help me! I've got to do a biology experiment
to Investigate the relationship between reaction temperature and the effectiveness of action of the enzyme amylase on starch. I really don't know what it is all about pls someone help :)
