Please answer!!!

Robert spent 3/5 of his money on stero equipment and 1/6 of the money he had left on lunch. He left the house with $24. How much money did Robert return with?

10 answers

24 x 3/5 = $14.40, 1/6 x 14.40 =2.40, 14.40-2.40=?
M=Roberts money , R=Rest of money
After he by stereo he have M-(3/5)M
=(5/5)M-(3/5)M=(2/5)M , Becouse 1=(5/5)
(1/6) of that he spent for lunch.
(1/6)*(2/5)M=(2/30)M=(1/15)M Becouse (2/30)=(1/15)
He totaly spent (3/5)M+(1/15)M
=(9/15)M+(1/15)M=(10/15)M=(2/3)M Becouse (10/15)=(2/3)
R=M-(2/3)M=(3/3)M-(2/3)M=(1/3)M
(1/3)M=24 Myltiply with 3, M=24*3=72$
how would I write that as an expression? Like I have to use an variable like x in it. X= $ robert returned with.
how do I write it with an expression with this prblem?
24*(3/5) = 14.4 dollars (for stereo equipment)
24-14.4 = 9.6 dollars (money left)
9.6*(1/6) = 1.6 dollars (for lunch)

24-(14.4+1.6) = 8 dollars

so there,, :)
Sorry my first ansver is wrong. I think that he come back with 24$. Wrong. Sorry.
He have 24$
He pax stereo: 24*(3/5)=(72/5)= 14.4$
After that he have: 24-14.4= 9.6$
1/6 of hat he spent for lunch.
Price of lunch is 9.6/6=1.6$
Rest of money is 9.6-1.6=8$
you guys all said different answers...
ohhh ok
I think Bosnian's 2nd answer is right. I made a mistake on mine.
3/5 * 24 = 14.40 on stereo equip.
1/6(24 - 14.40) = 1/6 * 9.60 = 1.60
f0r lunch,

Bal. = 9.60 - 1.60 = 8.00.
3
- of his previous amount of money before lunch.
5

1
- of money he had left.
