Lesson: Introduction to vocabulary
Objective: Students will be able to identify and use basic vocabulary words in English
Warm-up (5 minutes):
- Greet the students and ask them how they are feeling today.
- Review any previously learned vocabulary words by asking students to recall them.
Introduction (10 minutes):
- Introduce new vocabulary words by showing pictures and saying the word out loud.
- Repeat each word several times and have students repeat after you.
- Write the words on the board and have students say the words together as a class.
Practice (15 minutes):
- Divide students into small groups and give each group a set of flashcards with the new vocabulary words.
- Encourage students to take turns showing a card and saying the word out loud.
- Have the other students in the group repeat the word after the student who showed the card.
Activity (10 minutes):
- Play a game of charades with the new vocabulary words. One student acts out a word while the rest of the class tries to guess what it is.
- Encourage students to use the words they have learned in sentences while playing the game.
Closure (5 minutes):
- Review the new vocabulary words with the class, asking students to say each word out loud.
- Ask students to share one sentence using one of the new vocabulary words.
- Thank the students for their participation and effort during the lesson.
