This is my theme...
The theme here seems to be love! He loves Annabel no matter what! He does' not stop loving her. It shows from the beginning when he first fell in love with her, and until the end of her life he still loved her and was with her every night. In between he states nothing can break them apart. No angels or demons. But, when he was temporarily left from her he knew he was going to be with her again in heaven.
