One card is selected at random from an ordinary set of 52 cards. Find the probability of each of the following events:

b. A spade and a 5 are drawn. 1/52

2 answers

Correct.
the question is not very clear

you say one card is drawn and then ask for the prob of a spade AND a 5. That suggests two cards are drawn.
Did you mean "the 5 of spades" ?, that is the answer that PsyDAG agreed with.

If 2 cards are actually drawn then the prob would be
C(13,1)xC(4,1)/C(52,2) = 52/1326
= 2/51
