ok, Thanks for the help on that last one but can you help me with these:
solving equations with the variable on each side.

6+2(3j-2)=4(1+j)

9(4b-1)=2(9b+3)

in the first, is "j" the variable? You should learn to avoid the usage of i,j, and k as those are universally reserved symbols for unit directional vectors.
If you mean j as the variable, I will shift it to p..
6+2(3j-2)=4(1+j)
6+6p-4=4+4p
subtract 4p from each side
2+2p=4 check that and make certain you understand it.. then subtract 2 from each side
2p=2 and you solve.
Sorry about my uncomfortableness on using i,j,k for variables.
On the second, multiply each side out, then subtract 18b from each side, you can take it from there.
