Of the bundles delivered daily to the store, 1/3 consists of the morning edition of The Daily Sun. Another 2 bundles are made up of the afternoon edition of the same paper. Of the remaining bundles, 1/2 is regional, one is a local newspaper, and one is from another state. How many bundles are delivered daily to the bookstore?
1 answer
Let's work backwards. The papers from another state and the local make 2 bundles. Double that to include the regional--we now have 4. Add 2 more bundles for the afternoon edition. We now have 6. Since 6 represents 2/3rds of the bundles after the morning edition, we multiply that by 3/2, and we get 9 bundles for the day ☺☺☺☺
