On the graphs above, the slope of the lines represents the speed or velocity of the man as he moves towards the house. When the man is moved slowly, the slope of the line on the graph appears to be smaller, indicating a lower speed. On the other hand, when the man is moved quickly, the slope of the line on the graph appears to be steeper, indicating a higher speed. This relationship between the slope of the line and the speed of the man is consistent with the concept of slope being a measure of the steepness of a line.
