Need to solve by substitution

8x - 4y = 16
y = 2x -4

Substitute 2x -4 for y in the first equation and solve the resulting equation for x.
8x - 4(2x-4) = 16
16 = 16
The two equations are not independent. One can be derived fron the other. There are an infinite number of solutions
