The officer took notes as Martha continued, "It was a 2020 Honda Civic with a bright red exterior and (1) a license plate that read 4B2KJ3. I can't believe this is happening! They just took it right in front of me!" She wiped away tears as she recalled the incident.
The officer nodded, trying to reassure her. "We'll do everything we can to find your car, Martha. Can you describe the two men you saw?"
Martha took a deep breath and focused. "One was tall and wore a black hoodie. The other was shorter, and he had a blue baseball cap. They seemed to know what they were doing. It was like they had done this before."
The officer jotted down the descriptions and asked if she had any security cameras nearby. Martha shook her head, looking more distressed. "No, unfortunately. But I called my husband as soon as it happened. He might have seen something from his office across the street."
"Good, let's reach out to him for any details," the officer said. "Can you think of anything else that was unusual around the time of the incident?"
Martha thought hard, shaking her head slowly. "Not really. It was just a regular day, I was busy at the shop… I just can’t believe they would do this so openly. If only I had called the police sooner!"
The officer reassured her that her prompt action in reporting the theft was crucial. "We'll start an investigation right away, and your husband might have seen something that can help us. Try to stay calm, Martha. We’ll do our best to locate your car."
